A family legend could lead to a treasure more precious than pearls…or get them killed.
Between babysitting her very pregnant sister-in-law and fending off her mother’s nagging about her marital status, Blair Moreau is going insane. Her only hold on sanity is her daily walk for a guilty peek at her crush, the sexy neighbor who’s fixing up the old Cotesworth place.
Conn Lucas, the bastard son of Culford’s leading family, got way out of town a long time ago. When the only relative who didn’t despise him leaves him her 250-year-old house, Conn plans to refurbish it, flip it, and get back to Connecticut as soon as possible. Until a local beauty with a rare talent for DIY gives him a hand with some stubborn siding.
When he makes her mad enough to swing a two-by-four at his head, he realizes Blair is better than perfect. Especially when his efforts to keep her from killing him explode into an erotic rush of adrenaline that unleashes desires they’ve both kept hidden.
Breaking through Conn’s tough shell isn’t as difficult Blair’s next hurdle—telling him she’s a werewolf. First, though, they’ve got to deal with meddling ghosts and a bad ol’ boy cousin who isn’t above taking what he wants at nail-gun point…
Warning This book contains a smokin’ hot werewolf chick with serious DIY know-how and a man who thinks that’s sexy; illegal use of nail guns; things to do in a claw-foot tub; pirate references; piddling Dobermans and meddling ghosts. Which is better than meddling Dobermans and piddling ghosts.

This was a great follow up to Carolina Wolf, which I enjoyed quite a bit.I loved the humor, the protagonist's interactions and the final comeuppance for the bad guy. The guy wasn't quite as horrible as the the baddie in Wolf, but he was someone you know you walk by in the street sometimes, which makes it just even more believable.
This is novella length--I'm not sure how it work out in pages, but for the Kindle the story went through just over 1300 locations. The disgusting-bad-guy-but-not-quite-ultimate-evil type of scenario works well here--no trying to cram too much in. The historical elements needed were brought in easily and made part of the story, without a long dissertation or mental gymnastics utilized.
If you are in the mood for something shorter and that consists of lighter, funnier fare in the paranormal romance genre at the somewhat graphic end of the spectrum, this is it. A definite recommend.
I hope to see more from the Carolinas in the future!

Carolina Pearl edition by Sela Carsen Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
If you want a hot, yet fun read, Sela Carsen is definitely an author to check out. Her book, CAROLINA PEARL, introduces you to a werewolf named Blair Moreau and the man she falls for, Conn Lucas. Conn is an insurance lawyer who inherited his family's home. A home shrouded in mystery, yet valued by a family that has spurned Conn.
Blair's watching out for her very pregnant sister-in-law when she encounters Conn, who is making repairs on his family home. She learns that Conn is under attack from his cousin who wants the 250 year-old Cotesworth place for himself. But Conn doesn't plan to stay for long. He wants to get back to Connecticut as soon as possible. Of course those plans change when a beautiful werewolf arrives to save him from an attack. A series of events, including ghostly ancestors, an old tale surrounding a pearl, and an attack with a nail gun will leave you wanting more.
All in all, this book had me smiling and laughing thorough out. If you haven't read the first book, CAROLINA WOLF, don't worry. This book does not require that you read the first one. I enjoyed CAROLINA PEARL and I know you will as well!
No character development... no romantic tension build up-- as the two main protags are immediately and randomly licking each other in a lusty and unromantic way. Not even sexy.
Weak story--mercifully short.
I don't mean to be cruel-- but any potential it may have had was smothered by bad plot choices and cardboard cut out people who only seemed to be there to act out tired seductions.
